JOB DESCRIPTION:
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Shular Hospitality is searching for a highly motivated Sales Manager that will assist in the effort to generate hotel event space revenue for the (3) Gulfport hotels & the Gulf Coast Event Center that are currently in our portfolio.
The Sales Manager will be responsible for the following:
Serves as the hotels representative for all networking organizations such as the local Chamber of Commerce, Convention and Visitors Bureau and any other community organizations to solicit new business.
Works closely with other Shular Hospitality Sales Staff and each properties General Manager in contract negotiations and servicing groups.
Works closely with the Shular Hospitality Sales Staff to evaluate potential new business opportunities for the property.
Develop marketing strategies by analyzing historical, current and future hotel trends, and create selling strategies to capture the maximum amount of revenue.
Host and conduct site tours of the properties & maintain strong guest/business relationships.
Coordinate and participates in local and out of town trade shows and sales blitzes.
Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat clients using multiple channels, outside sales calls, mailings, internet searches, hotel lead websites and telemarketing.
Ensure all aspects of all sales reports, internal requests for information and special projects are submitted on or before their due dates.
Proactively conduct a min.
of 80% outside sales calls.
Prepares proposals and contracts that covers all the customers needs as well as increasing revenue for the company.
Assist in the development of the annual budget for each property.
Responsible for submitting all sales reports such as RFPs for each hotel chain on or before their due dates.
Looks for opportunities to grow revenue for Shular Hospitality by cross-selling other Shular Hospitality properties.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
College Degree preferred from an accredited school/university.
Previous hotel experience, prefer a min.
of 3 years.
Knowledge of planning and coordinating service requirements for a variety of association, educational, social and leisure groups.
Must retain a valid Drivers License and reliable transportation to drive to appointments, trade shows, other work related functions.

Ability to travel out of town.
Must be proficient in general computer knowledge.
Must pass a background check.
Exercise good time management, listening and math skills.
Ability to demonstrate good oral and written communications as well as extensive organizational skills.
Must be detail oriented and organized as it pertains to accuracy and efficiency.
Strong desire to deliver high quality customer service.
