The Education Specialist utilizes various electronic systems and creative teaching methods to develop educational programs to support the mission of the organization.
Utilizes multi-generational education principles and writing skills in curriculum development and to evaluate program effectiveness.
Participates in the department strategic planning process and goal accomplishment.
Required Qualifications: Education: Associate degree in Nursing, Business, Liberal Arts, or other field of study.
Licensure: Current licensure as indicated by profession.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in a Nursing, Allied Health or educational role.
Relevant experience working with teams and accomplishing department initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Knowledge of basic principles of multi-generational education.
Excellent verbal, written communication, teaching and presentation skills.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to create, analyze and interpret reports and spreadsheets.
Ability to organize and effectively coordinate multiple and frequently conflicting concurrent tasks with excellent follow-through.
Strong detail orientation, problem solving skills.
The ability to work autonomously as well as interdependently and concurrently with many people, projects and programs.
Preferred Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, healthcare or other field of study.
Licensure: Certification in nursing or education.
Experience: Experience in a professional development or Informatics role in a healthcare setting.
Experience in planning, developing and presenting educational programs.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Advanced understanding of computer operations; basic knowledge of operating A/V equipment.
Knowledge of Hospital Clinical Affiliations Programs, Medical and Nursing Continuing Education Programs; and Informatics Education.
Working knowledge of Electronic Health Records and Learning Management Systems.
