Responsibilities:
* Compile resources, information, and data, to address current and future trends in the arts
* Facilitate the Drama Matters, Lyricism 101, Media Making and MusicMakers programs.
* Prepare for and have youth participate in artistic competitions such as ImageMakers and National Fine Arts Exhibit.
* Develop and implement diverse opportunities/activities that provide access to local artistic professionals under each artistic category: fine arts, digital arts, performing arts, applied arts.
* Culminate arts experiences in community events, products and experiences; recognize members’ work and showcase in a variety of ways around the Club.
* Participate in community arts events.
* Develop meaningful relationships with youth to help discover their interests and advance them through their arts experience (foundational, skill building, portfolio development).
* Develop and cultivate relationships with art schools, museums, community organizations, agencies, and resources in or around the community that can support our arts program.
* In partnership with Workforce Readiness, take participating members on field trips where they can learn about artistic career paths and see skills they’ve learned in action.
* Create a calendar of artistic programs and events for the year.
* Develop opportunities to involve Club parents/guardians, community leaders and others from the local community in the arts program.
* Work with colleagues to integrate the arts into other programs.
* Maintain all art related spaces, materials and equipment.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience working with children in a classroom, preschool, or childcare setting.
* Knowledge of various art forms and techniques, including drawing, painting, sewing, and sculpture.
* Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to different age groups and skill levels.
* Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
* Passion for the arts and a desire to inspire creativity in others.
* Special education experience or training is a plus.
* Experience in theater or dance is beneficial but not required.
